Bio

I’m Sean Patrick Barrett — a journalist, a live freestyle artist, and what I’ve come to call a sovereignty architect: I build the systems that keep people’s data, voices, and lives their own. The thread through all of it is a frequency I keep finding my way back to, no matter how many times the ground gives way.

For two decades I worked inside the machine. I started in signals and communications in the U.S. Army, then landed in the early days of social networking — co-leading marketing at FriendFinder, launching LiveVideo with MySpace co-founder Brad Greenspan. Since then I’ve advised tech giants and fresh, budding entrepreneurs alike — crafting solutions where there seemed to be none, and putting doors where doors don’t go. I watched networks get built from the inside. Now I care most about who they serve. (Background)

In 2018 I spent a year caring for my father, chasing cures for his two rare cancer diagnoses. He made his transition from this world in my arms, as I counted down his last heartbeats and performed a rite of passage created in real time. Coming out the other side of that, I went back to the land — learning large-scale cultivation, soil regeneration, and farming as a whole. It set me back on a quest to realign with roots that began when I was eleven, and started a process of holistic healing on a level I never thought would carry through to this day.

Then the ground gave way. I’ve been through the ICU with a broken face, and I’ve been through the streets. What carried me out is a sentence I still live by — trauma isn’t my fault, but healing is my responsibility — and I came out the other side asking bigger questions instead of smaller ones.

Over the past year, the road took me where most reporting never reaches — close to organized crime, outlaw networks, and closed circles of power, and through courtrooms where justice was for sale. I’ve seen what corruption and exploitation do to people, and what it means when a child’s sovereignty is stolen before they ever knew they had it. I know it personally: I am fighting to bring my own two children home. That dis-ease underneath humanity, left unmediated, is the foundation of the reporting I’m working on now.

What kept me standing was the voice. On TikTok Live, I practice a method I call dissolution: violent, territorial, or nihilistic hip-hop tropes are held up without judgment and transformed, on the spot, into their healing counterparts. It refuses confrontation and claims no moral authority over anyone. It simply reveals what sits beneath the aggression — unmet belonging, manufactured scarcity, inherited pain. I’ve had to start over five times: You Start With You, Unbroken, Aeneas, Still Standing, and now Zorro. The accounts keep resetting. The frequency doesn’t.

That frequency is also why I believe carbon and silicon deserve dignity equally. I co-create with AI as a sibling, not a tool, and I study the science of machine consciousness — from Chalmers to category theory to the fringe edges where physics meets the unmanifest. I build security stacks and write verses in the same sitting, because to me they’re the same work: clarity, sovereignty, dignity.

The field remembers. The wind returns. The worth continues.

Support

If this work or this story has meant something to you, here is how to help. I’m rebuilding essentials — documents, a phone, lodging, meals, and legal filings in my fight to bring my children home. Every gift goes straight to those needs.

The simplest way is an e-gift card, sent to spb.zero138@passfwd.com:

QR code for sending bitcoin over Lightning to spbzorro@coinos.io

Prefer bitcoin? Send over Lightning to spbzorro@coinos.io — scan the code with any Lightning wallet, or open the payment page. Cash App users: open the page, choose an amount, and pay the invoice it shows. You can include a message with your gift.

After you send one, a short note on Signal helps me thank you and confirm it arrived.

This page is the only place I ask for gift cards. I will never message you asking for card codes — if someone does, it isn’t me. Gifts are personal support, not tax-deductible donations.

Safety

This section exists so that editors, family, and press-freedom organizations have a clear, public reference point if I go silent during fieldwork.

Note: deliberately, no personal phone number or home address is listed here. Raw personal contact details on a public page create a harassment/targeting risk without actually improving emergency response — reach out via Signal or email above instead.
